Holy cow, these are so easy! These have to be some of the easiest ornaments we’ve ever made. All you have to do is cut photos into simple shapes, glue them together and hang them up! They’ll look photastically fetching on your Christmas twig (or Hanukkah bush, or Kwanzaa tree, or Ramadan mastodon… um, mastodons are plants, right?) Whatcha gonna need?
Numero Uno: Make a Template
This season’s trendiest shapes include:
Make sure the shapes are small enough to cut out of a 4×6 photo. Now cut the shapes out with scissors so you can use them as templates to make the ornaments. Numero Two-O: Cut Photos Into Shape
Experiment to see whether concave or convex shapes suit you best. Or try both! We don’t judge. Numero 3PO: Gluuuuuue
Dab a glob of glue at the center of each shape, on the front of one and the back of the other. Stick them together so both photos are facing up, one on top of the other. You’ll want to make sure they’re at different angles from one another, so that one doesn’t get hidden behind the other (i.e. the point of one sticks out behind the flat edge of another). Numero 42: String ‘Em Up
Make a loop out of the thread and glue the ends to the back of the ornament. Let the glue dry completely before you move on to the next step. Numero Hawaii Five-O: Show Them Off! Whee!
Make a bunch of ‘em so you can hang them on any unsuspecting holiday plant you happen to see. It’s like photobombing, for trees! Would you like some more awesome?
