Rewrite history (books) or be the hero in a graphic novel with a quick snip and a slide.

WHY IT’S COOL

You are upcycling old books while showing your photos off in a totally unique way. Saving trees have never been so fun!

Ingredients:

before

  • Cutting mat
  • Craft Knife
  • Double Sided Tape
  • Metal Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Old book

STEP 1: Cut

beforeOn any page, cut out a window using your craft knife.

STEP 2: Tape

beforeFlip the page, and stick a strip of double sided tape on both sides and the bottom of the page (not the top).

STEP 3: Stick

beforeRemove the protective layer of the double sided tape and neatly stick the facing page to the one with the window cut out.

Alright, you can breathe out now. Time for the fun to start!

STEP 4: Slip

beforeFrom the top, slip a photo between the two pages.

Lookin’ good, good lookin’!

STEP 5: Rinse and Repeat

beforeRepeat steps 1 to 4 on as many pages as you can and fill the pages of your book with photos.

Taking It Further

  • Insert yourself and your friends into the story by cutting out around window frames, picture frames, doorways or even faces!
  • Use a cookbook stand (like this one) to keep a book turned album open on the shelf, showing off your photos.
  • Instead of cutting out the windows, cut three sides and make your friends lift the flap to see what’s underneath.
